WORKERS & VILLAINS
The stencil series “Workers and Villains” combines pictograms from the labour struggle of the turn of the century with age-old tattoo motifs from the milieu.
Both worlds are linked by the smell of sweat, blood and a certain house baking, which is why the works are sprayed on faded check tablecloths.
Neither can do without a certain amount of bodily involvement, a quality that links them back to the art world, however lofty it may come across.
