Everything in the world has its two sides and often good & evil lie close together. The silkscreen series “Twosider” is about the ambivalence of our world, the pros and cons of things: Nature conservation vs food shortage, indigenous peoples vs securing resources or nuclear power vs renewable energies. Emess has composed his “Twosiders” from motifs of commercial banknotes from all over the world, because ultimately the question of evaluating these circumstances can be compared to a simple cost-benefit calculation. In the end, money determines what lasts.
