Sprayer, street kid, opportunity actor – the Berlin graffiti artist Bimer shows in his first solo exhibition “SICK CITY” not only a number of variations of his well known metropolitan characters but also some recent free style pictures. Bimer’s Berlin bear is one of the most noticeable street art characters in Berlin’s graffiti scene. The sometimes angry or sad looking bear can be found on numerous spots sometimes as huge wall piece as well as small marker sketch. As a bear in a boat fishing money at the Rosenthaler Platz, playing baseball with the Fernsehturm in Kreuzberg or as pirate bear in the Rummelsburger Bucht the Bimer bear has become part of the City. The artist created his very personal version of the Berlin bear that is also known as the icon of Berlin. By adding comments of a ‘Berliner Schnauze’ street-slang he expresses his view on the changes that are taking place in the capital.
